Left around 7:00-7:30 for long cruise. This may have been the day we ran out of fuel (in one tank, phew) AND ran aground. First issue was solved by switching tanks, although it took a couple of minutes which was a bit nerve-wracking since we were drifting towards shallow(er) water. After running aground we were pushed around by chop for awhile as we waited for a rising tide, maybe 1/2 hour?
After running aground Andrew took Mark Bartlett’s local friend Anthony up on his offer to meet us and escort us through 'hell gate'.
Arrived at Hinkley Yacht Service Thunderbolt and waited quite awhile for help docking (strong current). Andrew went for bike ride, then Paul (formerly from Tiara) met us around 6:00 and took us to a local seafood restaurant for dinner. After dinner we used the marina car for grocery shopping at 9:00pm. A little late for my taste but was glad we were able to get it done.
